George Kynock - Grave Details


George Kynoch, founder of the Lion Ammunition Works in Birmingham UK and other industries, giving rise to the world renown Kynock Ammunition and other general engineering products, spent the last two years of his life in South Africa, passing away on the 28th February 1891

 

Buried in the historic Braamfontein Cemetery, Johannesburg, his Grave has been maintained through the efforts of the Historical Firearms Society (HFSSA, now incorporated with SAAACA Gauteng) and commercial entities utilising the Trade Name: Kynoch.

 

The Grave can be visited on most days, however, visits other than in daylight and in groups are not recommended. Personnel at the Cemetery Office are usually in attendance, Week Days: 08h00 to 15h30 SAST and will direct you to the Grave.
