Other Cartridges:

Blank Cartridges

Blank cartridges were never made on any scale other than experimental in South Africa. The first two are crimped blanks and appear to have been made from cartridges taken out of a belt (4 ball, 1 tracer). The plastic sabot version I believe was a private venture.

Marking Cartridges

These are merely ball cartridges with paint on the bullet. They are not factory marked but done on a unit level. When the bullet strikes a target some of the paint would be left on the edges of the hole the bullet made thus enabling instructors or referees in training to establish which team had hit the target and how many times.

These are the cores inside the explosive bullets. They have aguilding metal jacket covering them and thus they look like ball cartridges once they have been loaded. Several models were tried, all were experimental, none were adopted.
